Hu Ge Women

Madelene Andersson's name is the one that surfaces when you go looking for the women's side at IK Huge, and it surfaces almost alone.

What the club does have is a beginning of a particular kind. Two organisations in the eastern part of Gävle, Kastets IF and Bomhus IK, folded into one another on 20 November 1927, and the merged club took in more than football.

The ground is Kastvallen, holding around 2,500.

Blue and white is what the teams wear, and the club sorts its own sides by colour when it has to — a fixture listing IK Huge Blå against Gefle IF FF Vit tells you how many teams are being kept in the air at once.

The Svenska Cupen is where the women's team meets clubs from outside its own division. In 2017/18 the qualifying round ended at Gamla Upsala SK, 0–1, one goal and out. For 2025/26 the draw put IK Huge into the second round against whoever came through Heffnersklubbans BK and IF Team Hudik.

The immediate business is that cup tie and the lower-division season around it, played on the same pitch, by a squad the wider game has yet to write down.
