The women's side that had been playing under IK Sirius did not simply change its name. In 2016 it broke away from the men's club and merged with the women's team of Danmarks IF, and what came out of that reorganisation was a separate football organisation. The first season under the new name came in 2017, in Elitettan, the second tier.

Twice the club has got over the line into the top flight. Second place in Elitettan in 2019 brought promotion, and the season that followed in Damallsvenskan ended twelfth. Second place again in 2025 sent the club back up. In between came 2023, thirteenth, the other of the two seasons the club can point to at that level.

Matches against Sirius carry the label Uppsala Clash, and the shared origin gives them their edge.
