Ischia

The sporting tradition on Ischia goes back to the Robur et Energea Club, and from that the football side eventually took the name Isolaverde, then, after a bankruptcy in 1998, was carried forward under different guises — A.C. Ischia, and since 2017 SSD Ischia Calcio.

Twenty years later came the Serie D Scudetto, the national amateur championship, in 2012–13.

Giuseppe "Pino" Taglialatela came through the youth sector before winning the Serie A title with Napoli in 1986–87, and later returned to the island as chairman; he now serves as honorary president under Luigi Lauro, who took over in late 2024. Journalist Bruno Pizzul once wore the shirt too, in the 1960s.

In Serie D, recent seasons have settled into mid-table: fourth in Girone G in 2023–24, ended by a playoff semi-final defeat to Romana, then tenth in Girone H the following year.

Isolani, the "Islanders", still play in front of no more than 5,428 people at the Stadio Enzo Mazzella.
