Jacobina

Jacobina Esporte Clube was founded on December 1, 1993. Their defining moment arrived in 1993, when a victory in the Copa Interclubes secured their promotion to the Campeonato Baiano first division.

The club’s character is tied to its nickname, Jegue da Chapada, which translates to Donkey of the Plateau. Their status in the second division is not new; they finished as runners-up in the Campeonato Baiano - Segunda Divisão in both 2014 and 2023, always close to the prize but unable to cross the line. In 2016, they also reached the final of the Copa Governador do Estado, losing to Jequié.

The rivalry with local side Jacobinense Esporte Clube, known as the Clássico Jacobinense, provides the emotional core for their matches. The Estádio Municipal José Rocha holds a modest capacity, reported variously as 5,000 or 6,000 spectators. Within these walls, the club has produced players who eventually moved on. On match days, the stands are filled with supporters wearing blue, yellow, and white, colours that have belonged to the team since its inception.
