Kolding B

Serie 2 is the third rung below the professional game in Denmark, and that is where Kolding Boldklub have been playing through the 2024–25 season, with promotion to the Danmarksserien set for 2026–27. It is a modest level for a club that spent almost two decades in and out of the DBU Pokalen draw, but the arrangement in Kolding has always been unusual: two clubs in one town, neither willing to be the junior partner.

The other one is Kolding IF, founded in 1895. For most of the twentieth century the two were rivals rather than relatives. In 2002 they folded into a single entity, Kolding FC, which competed in the 2nd Division. That lasted until 2013, when the merger came apart and Kolding Boldklub resumed on its own — the same club that had been set up on 21 July 1919, picking up where it had left off eleven years earlier.

The two work together now on bringing young players through, though Kolding IF keep their own reserve side and Kolding Boldklub are nobody's feeder team. The distinction matters to people in the town.

Home is Mosevej Sportsplads, which holds 3,000, only 200 of them seated. Navy and white on the shirts, the same colours in the round crest.

There are no championships to talk about. Cup entries in 1955, in 1970, then a long run of them from 1982 to 2000 — none of which ended in silverware.

What Kolding Boldklub can claim is Mikkel Beck. Before he moved on to B 1909 and eventually to the Denmark side — 19 caps, 3 goals, and squads at the 1996 and 2000 European Championships — the striker learned the game here as a boy.
