On 26 October 2011, a fourth-tier side out of the northern edge of Odense knocked Superliga club Silkeborg IF out of the Danish cup, 4:3. In 2024, Næsby did much the same thing to Viborg FF, winning 4:1.

The high-water mark arrived in 2011/12, the same season as the Silkeborg win, when Næsby finished second in the Danish 2nd Division on 70 points, behind FC Fyn. Næsby now plays in the Danish 3rd Division, the fourth tier.

The club came out of Næsby and Kirkendrup, and it has moved around them ever since. The first matches in 1938 were played at Højløkke Allé on a pitch known as Grusgraven — the gravel pit. A move to Søren Eriksensvej followed in 1950, a new clubhouse went up in 1968, and in 1984 the club settled on Stærehusvej, where it still plays. The ground, now ALPI Arena Næsby , holds 2,500.
