Lecco

The rivalry outlives the divisions.

The football came out of a boathouse. On 22 December 1912 a football section was set up inside Società Canottieri Lecco, the rowing club, and it took the rowers' blue and sky blue with it — the colours the Blucelesti still wear.

The good years belong to Mario Ceppi, president from 1948. Under him Lecco reached Serie A in 1960 and finished 14th in their first season there. Two further campaigns in the top flight followed, both ending in relegation, and by 1983 the club had fallen as far as the amateur Campionato Interregionale.

Bankruptcy came twice, in 2002 and again in 2015–16. Paolo Di Nunno bought what was left at auction in 2017 and refounded it as Calcio Lecco 1912; the Serie D Group A title in 2018–19 put the club back into professional football.

In 2022–23 Lecco finished third in Serie C, then beat Foggia in the playoff final to reach Serie B after a gap of half a century. The stay lasted one season.
