Framnäs IP holds three thousand people, a modest ground for a club that only exists because two older ones didn't. IF Heimer and Lidköpings IF spent late 2011 working out the terms of a merger, and on 1 January 2012 Lidköpings FK took the field as one operation instead of two.
The women's side has carried the club's name furthest. Two promotions into Elitettan, in 2014 and again in 2017, put Lidköping in the country's second tier more than once, and each time the club had to prove the level wasn't a fluke. It couldn't hold the position: relegation at the end of 2024 sent the team down to Division 1 Mellersta for 2025, a step the club is still working to reverse.
Daniel Nordmark's name comes up first when people talk about the club's identity, the kind of player a small-town side points to when asked who represents it. Svenska Cupen has given Lidköping a stage beyond its own league table too; the 2024–25 campaign took the club as far as the group stage, further than its size would suggest.
None of that plays out in isolation. Vänersborgs IF and Skövde AIK sit close enough on the map that fixtures against them carry weight beyond three points, the kind of regional needle that gives a Saturday at Framnäs IP a different feel from any other. Blue and red still mark the shirt, a colour scheme inherited rather than chosen, tying the merged club back to the two it replaced. On matchdays the ground fills to a fraction of its capacity, small enough that the crowd still knows itself, and that's where Lidköping's football is measured.
