The team is not a separate club but the U19 age group of Lokomotiv Moscow's academy, built into the Center of Sport and Education that club president Valery Filatov set up in 2000. It plays its home matches at the Sapsan Arena on Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya, a 10,000-seat ground known as the Lokomotiv small sports arena until 2017, and competes in the Youth Football League.

The side has taken the Youth Championship of Russia three times, in 2011, 2015/16 and 2023, and added a ЮФЛ-2 title at under-18 level in 2021/22. Silver came at under-19 level in 2022/23 and again in 2025, with bronze finishes at under-19 in 2019/20, 2021/22 and 2025 and at under-18 in 2024.

Alexei Miranchov made his first-team debut out of this system in 2013 before moving on to Atalanta.
