Monagas SC II

Second-tier football in Venezuela is where Monagas SC II spend their season, in the division now run as Liga FUTVE 2, and the squad that turns out there is largely the academy's: players born between 2007 and 2009, stiffened by a few who have already had minutes in the first division. The 2025 campaign took in both the league programme and the Venezuelan Cup.

The side has been in the second division on and off since at least 2011/12, when it finished fourth in the eastern group. There were further seasons in 2012/13 and 2014/15. No trophy has come of any of it — no title, no podium finish.

Home is the Estadio Alexander "Comanche" Bottini, an 8,000-seat ground that also takes in the first team when the Estadio Monumental de Maturín is being worked on or held back for national-team fixtures. The bigger arena seats 51,796. In recent seasons the team has also played across the state line at the Estadio Ricardo Tulio Maya in Ciudad Bolívar, a 2,500-capacity ground belonging to other clubs in the league, used here as an alternative base.

The blue and garnet of the parent club carry over, and with them the Azulgrana tag.

Opponents come mostly from the east: Mineros de Guayana, Dinamo de Puerto La Cruz, Angostura FC, Marítimo, with Petare and Aragua FC among the others on the fixture list.

The name attached to the 2025 season is Jhonny Ferreira, the parent club's sporting director.
