Mooskirchen

SV Lebring is the name Mooskirchen players hear most often when the fixture list comes out. The two sides meet as neighbours in the Styrian league system, and the fixture carries no name of its own, only the familiarity of two clubs from the same corner of the region.

Mooskirchen is a market town in the district of Voitsberg, and its club, USV Draxler Mooskirchen, has gone by several names, among them FC Mooskirchen and SV Mooskirchen. It started in 1960 and marked its 60th anniversary in 2020 with a new logo, unveiled that August. Its colours are green and white, with red, black and white also in use.

The stretch people in the town still talk about ran from roughly 2013 to 2017. The coach then was Hannes Bratschko, and the side was known locally as the Bratschko-Elf. It climbed through the Unterliga, and in 2016/17 it won the Unterliga Mitte/West under president Jörg Huiber. That title took the club up to the Oberliga.

The Oberliga was harder. In 2018/19 Mooskirchen finished second-to-last and had to go through a relegation playoff against SV Ragnitz. They won 3-1 away and then 2-0 at home, which kept them up. The same season brought a 5-0 win at SC Stainz in the fifth round of the Steirer-Cup, before ASK Mochart Köflach ended the run.

Home is the Josef-Tanzer-Sportanlage, listed at 1,500 seats. The club still plays in the Oberliga Steiermark Mitte/West, and the 2024/25 season was played at that level.
