In October 2024 a village side from north Funen walked out against AaB . Morud IF had earned the tie the hard way, beating Tarup/Paarup IF 3-2 in the round before. The second round ended 0-7. A year earlier the same stage had brought Næsby BK, and that one finished 1-5. Two cup runs, two second rounds, two beatings by clubs several divisions above — those were the afternoons the village turned out for.
The club as it exists now dates from 1958. Morud Boldklub, whose own starting date nobody has pinned down, merged that year with the gymnastics club Vigerslev Gymnastikforening. The new body took the name Vigerslev Idrætsforening; the Morud name came back later, when the club was renamed Morud Idrætsforening.
The ground carries a sponsor's name, MORUDVVS-ELSTADION, and holds around 1,000.
