Olympia

FC Olympia have finished top of the Northwest Division in the USL W League three seasons running, from 2023 to 2025, and reached the national play-offs each time. The last of those titles came down to the wire, the club having to stave off Salmon Bay to be confirmed 2025 champions. The play-offs themselves have found no answer yet: in 2023 the team lost to California Storm 0-1, and in 2024 it beat Oakland 2-1 before falling to Colorado by the same scoreline.

The club plays under the nickname Artesians, a nod to the wells that once fed Olympia's brewing trade. Home has moved with almost the same regularity as the title has been won: South Sound Stadium in Lacey for the first two of those seasons, then Well 80 Pitch, and now the SPSCC Clipper Soccer Field back in Olympia, which holds 750 including standing room. Tacoma Galaxy, the closest rival across the county line, drew a record crowd for one meeting between the two sides.

What the club has produced above all is players who move on. Goalkeeper Faith Nguyen, captain and 2025 MVP, signed for Angel City FC in the NWSL in January 2026. Bre Norris took the same path to Angel City before joining Brooklyn FC. McKenna Martinez, FC Olympia's leading scorer, left for a professional contract in Portugal, while Anne-Valerie Soto and Mariah Lee signed in the Northern Super League, with Halifax and Vancouver Rise.

None of it existed before 2014, when Brandon Sparks founded the side as Oly Town FC; the women's team joined the USL W League only in 2023, and the club took its present name, FC Olympia, a year later.
