Saxon Sports go into 2025/26 with the Coupe valaisanne back in the cabinet, won in the spring.
The cup has become the measure of the place. Six years separate the two most recent wins, 2019 and 2025, and in between the club kept turning teams out at every age.
Staying is rather the point. The club has been an association under the Swiss civil code since 1933, which means members, subscriptions and a committee, and it has never been anything else. Orange and blue, and a ground, the Complexe Sportif du Pérosé, that holds 1,000 — a figure that says more about the Valais than about ambition. Sion is the reference point on any map, but Saxon is its own village, and the football has been organised on that scale for over ninety years.
Diego Berchtold is among the players the club counts as its own. Others passed through and moved on, as they do at this level, where a good season tends to be somebody else's recruitment.
Which leaves Fully. They sit a few kilometres down the Rhône valley, close enough that the two clubs draw from overlapping villages and have been competing for the same boys for generations — a derby with no love lost, and the one fixture where the 1,000 places at the Pérosé matter.
