Two years later the club became Shaoxing Shangyu Pterosaur.
Its home ground on paper was Shangyu Stadium, a 16,000-seat venue in that district. In practice the team played across the provincial border in Jiaxing, at a stadium built for 35,000.
The climb came in 2021, through the Chinese Champions League. That promotion remains the only line in the club's record that reads as an achievement; there are no trophies, no league titles.
What followed in League Two ran the other way. The 2023 season ended with the club 15th of 16 and relegated.
On 6 February 2024 the club was moved out of Zhejiang altogether, to Ganzhou in Jiangxi province, and renamed Ganzhou Ruishi . The ground holds 12,000.
