Tai'an Tiankuang

Liu Jindong captained Shandong Taishan before he took charge in Tai'an, and it was under him that a works team from the Huawei Group stopped being a works team. The side had spent more than a decade in the Tai'an city amateur league, winning it repeatedly and going no further. Second place in the Shandong amateur super league in 2020 opened the door to the national amateur championship the following year.

Tai'an Huawei, as they were still called, reached the semi-finals of the 2021 Chinese Champions League and lost 2-1 to Jinan Xingzhou. Third place was enough. Promotion to China League Two for 2022 made them the first professional club Tai'an had ever had, and in February 2022 the Chinese Football Association's rule on neutral names turned Huawei into Tiankuang.

The recruitment has leaned on Shandong: several of the squad came through the Luneng Taishan academy, and the fixtures against Jinan Xingzhou and Zibo Qisheng are grouped as the Qilu Derby, after the two states that once divided the province. Shandong Taishan's reserve side has also been a league opponent.

January 2026 undid part of the promotion generation. Goalkeeper Teng Shangkun, along with Ma Dongliang and Ling Sihao, received lifetime bans from the association for match-fixing — three of the players who had carried the club into the professional game.

Home matches are played at the Tai'an Sports Center Stadium in Daiyue District, also known as Taishan Stadium. It holds 32,000.
