Siwelele

Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium holds 22,000 people and sits in Bloemfontein, in South Africa's Free State province. It became Siwelele's home once the club took over the place SuperSport United had held in the top flight; the old side's ground, Free State Stadium, was left behind in the process.

Siwelele was not built up through the lower leagues. Calvin Le John, son of sports minister Gayton McKenzie, bought SuperSport United's status and structure for 50 million rand once the 2024/25 season had ended, and the new name took the old one's place in the Betway Premiership for 2025/26.

The first season closed in 10th place. In the Nedbank Cup, Siwelele reached the last 16 before Richards Bay went through on penalties after a 3-3 draw. One result stood apart from both: a 4-7 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns on 11 May 2026, the highest-scoring match the Premiership had recorded.

Local fixtures carry their own weight. Matches against Marumo Gallants are billed as the Bloemfontein derby, and the first of them went 1-0 to Siwelele. Games with Bloemfontein Celtic are known as the Free State derby, a name owed as much to the deal that created the club as to geography.

Lehlohonolo Seema, once captain of Lesotho's national side, took the dugout, working with a squad drawn mostly from players carried over from SuperSport United and new arrivals such as defender Buhle Mkhwanazi, back in the league after two years out.
