Sokol Brozany

In 2014, Bohemians 1905 sent Roman Potočný out on loan to a village side. He played one match for Sokol Brozany, scored twice, and moved on. In 2020, he earned a single cap for the Czech national team.

The club has spent most of its history working back from that kind of obscurity. Football was played informally in Brozany nad Ohří before the First World War, and the side, registered at first simply as SK Brozany, later took the name Sokol Brozany. Through the 1930s it sat in the II. třída of the North Bohemian district, and its first real advance came during the war years, between 1940 and 1945, when it reached I.B třída. Almost forty years passed before Brozany reached the krajský přebor in 1983, only to lose the promotion play-off for the Divize the following season.

Promotion arrived in 1990, and Brozany stayed in the Divize until 1998. A slower climb through the district leagues followed — the I. A třída title in 2006, the Přebor Ústeckého kraje a year later — before the Divize B title of 2015 sent Brozany into the ČFL for the first time in its history. Relegation came straight back, but so did the answer: Brozany won Divize B again in 2017 and returned to the ČFL at the first attempt.

Games are played at the Hlavní stadion, a 1,500-capacity ground where the club still turns out in red and white, with meetings against SK Zápy in the ČFL's group B standing as the fixture that matters most on the calendar.
