Täby Women

In May 2014 the women of Täby FK took the Swedish futsal title, beating Skövde KIK 4-3 in the final. It remains the only national honour the club can point to, and it came indoors, on a hard court, rather than on the grass of the divisions the team actually plays in week to week.

The club itself is younger than most of the opposition it meets. It came out of a merger in 2012, when the football sections of Täby IS and IFK Täby were folded together in the Stockholm suburb the club is named after — one women's side instead of two competing for the same players and the same pitches. Some records still carry the longer form, IFK Täby FK Women, a leftover from that arrangement.

Home is split between two grounds. Vikingavallen holds 2,750, but since 2021 most home fixtures have gone to Tibblevallen after its refurbishment, a smaller venue that takes 2,000.

The Svenska Cupen is where Täby occasionally cross paths with clubs from higher up, and those meetings tend to be short. Älvsjö AIK Women knocked them out in the 2023 edition, 3-1. League football has meant Division 1 Norra Dam, the third tier, where results are recorded sparsely and seasons pass without much notice outside the municipality. The fixture list runs on: a friendly against India's under-20 side in February 2026, a match with Örebro Söder Women the following August.

Fourteen years in, the club has no Damallsvenskan season behind it, no Svenska Cupen run worth the name, and no settled rivalry — the sort of fixture that gives a small club a date to build around. What Täby have is a futsal trophy from 2014 and a refurbished ground on the edge of Stockholm.
