Tampa Bay Sun Women

Tampa's football grounds tend to be shared, borrowed or built for something else, and the Sun's is no exception: Riverfront Stadium sits on the campus of Howard W. Blake High School. Before the club's first match it was rebuilt around the tenant rather than the school — new changing rooms, extra seating, a scoreboard and a FIFA-approved surface — for a capacity of 5,000.

The club came out of the announcement, in May 2023, of a new women's professional division; the name and badge followed on 4 November that year, in navy blue and sun yellow. The first season was 2024.

The second ended with the trophy. In the 2024-25 USL Super League final, Tampa Bay Sun beat Fort Lauderdale FC 1-0, Cecilie Floe scoring in the 100th minute of extra time.

The club has plans for a purpose-built stadium of 15,000 in Ybor Harbor, on the water east of downtown; until it exists, the champions of the league play where they won it, on a school pitch by the river.
