The 2025–26 campaign has settled somewhere in the middle of the table.
D.C. United is the partner in the project, and Audi Field, the 20,000-capacity ground the two share, hosted the first home match in September 2024, a game against Fort Lauderdale United FC. The franchise itself was announced in May 2023, though the branding took another year to settle — an early fuchsia-and-black identity was dropped in June 2024 for the blue, black and white now on the crest, a badge built around an eagle's claw and three stars lifted from the District of Columbia flag.
The ownership group reads more like a locker room than a boardroom: WNBA forward Angel Reese, MLB pitcher Josiah Gray and NHL player Hendrix Lapierre all hold stakes, alongside actress Crystal Renee Hayslett.
Claire Constant wears the armband. The defender plays international football for Haiti.
