Tasmania JackJumpers

The MyState Bank Arena in Hobart seats 4,340 for basketball: the venue, once known as the Derwent Entertainment Centre, was reconfigured in 2021 to give the JackJumpers a proper home for their first National Basketball League campaign.

The club went for the jugular in its very first season, reaching the 2021–22 Grand Final as debutants before Sydney swept them aside. Under Scott Roth, the JackJumpers turned it around: they beat Melbourne United 3–2 in the 2023–24 Grand Final for the franchise's first championship, with Jack McVeigh named Grand Final MVP. That same year they travelled to the FIBA Intercontinental Cup and left with third place after beating Al Riyadi Beirut 80–75.

Ownership changed hands more recently than the trophies did: Altor Capital bought out founder Larry Kestelman's majority stake in July 2025. On the court, the rivalry with Sydney carries the sting of that first Grand Final defeat, while the games against Melbourne United now run under their own banner, the Marinus Link Bass Strait Battle.
