Terre Sainte

Eight communes on the shore road north of Geneva put their football clubs together in 1987, and they built something in the western reaches of Vaud — 28 teams and more than 600 members registered under one name.

The first team plays its football at Les Rojalets, the sports centre on the chemin des Rojalets in Coppet, where the ground holds 1,400. The clearest of them came in the 2013–14 Swiss Cup, when Terre Sainte beat FC Chiasso 2–1 and drew FC Lucerne in the second round. Lucerne won 4–1, but the goal went in.

The Cup run followed the club's strongest spell on the pitch. Terre Sainte won Group 1 of the 2. Liga Interregional in 2009–10, went back down, then took the group again in 2011–12 — two titles inside three seasons for a side drawn from villages of a few thousand people each.

Ronald Rothenbühler spent the 2004–05 season at the club, arriving with a professional career behind him. In 2024 the goalkeeper Christophe Guedes signed on.

The work now is the work of a village club with a first team to feed and hundreds of juniors coming through behind it: keep the senior side competitive at its level, and keep the pathway from the eight communes to Les Rojalets open.
