FC Yverdon, which had been playing since 1897, joined with FC Concordia and White Star.

What the merged club turned out to be good at was leaving the second division. It won the Nationalliga B in 1989, and again in 1991, 1993 and 1995; then the renamed Challenge League in 2005 and in 2023. The most recent came in 2025, when relegation from the Super League put Yverdon back in the division it keeps winning.

The closest the club has come to a trophy that isn't a second-tier championship was the Swiss Cup final of 2000–01, and it was not close at all. Servette won 3–0.

In 2017, promotion to the Promotion League was followed by the signing of Djibril Cissé, a former France international.

No Swiss championship has ever been won here, and no cup.
