Jonathan Jonk came to the dugout at Sportpark Het Hoge Land with a professional career behind him — Sparta Rotterdam, Excelsior, De Graafschap — and took charge of a side that has never won a national honour. Dean Zandbergen scored 19 goals in the 2021–22 season and left for VVV Venlo, then FC Dordrecht; the club's arrangement with Sparta Rotterdam, which uses it as a training partner for youth development, runs along the same line.

That 2021–22 campaign ended second in the Hoofdklasse D. The KNVB expanded the Derde Divisie instead, and TOGB went up. It has finished 8th twice since, in 2022–23 and 2023–24 — the highest the club has ever placed.

The ground burned in 2021. Fire destroyed the main stand, and for a season the listed capacity dropped by several hundred; a new concrete stand was opened in late 2022, taking Het Hoge Land back to 1,800. The same sports park houses CVV Berkel, which makes the Berkel derby a matter of walking across the site rather than travelling to it.

The club was founded on 28 October 1928 as Tot Ons Genoegen Berkel. The red and black horizontal stripes of the early years are gone; the shirt now is black with a vertical yellow stripe, and the nickname Geel-Zwart follows from it.

The cup has offered nothing lately — three first preliminary rounds in a row, ended by Staphorst, IJsselmeervogels and VV Noordwijk, the last of those 0–4. League survival at the third tier, and a first finish inside the top seven, is the immediate business.
