VJS

In the summer of 2025 a team from Vantaa played three matches in San Marino under a name that was not its own. The rules of the UEFA Regions' Cup require entrants to represent a region rather than a club, so VJS went to the finals as Länsi-Vantaan Ylpeys — the Pride of West Vantaa. They drew one and lost two in the group stage, and went home.

The route there says something about where VJS sits in Finnish football. The club has never won a title in the top flight, and its recent years have been spent moving between the third and fourth tiers: promoted out of Kolmonen into Kakkonen in 2018, back down again in 2023. An earlier run in Kakkonen lasted from 1997 to 2000. The Regions' Cup, built for amateur and lower-league sides, was a competition VJS could actually reach.

Home is the Myyrmäki football stadium, 4,700 seats, which has carried three names in the years the club has played there — ISS Stadion, then Pohjola Stadion, now Myyrmäki. The away kit is yellow.

The other result worth recording from that period came from the junior side. VJS's TU13/1 team won the LuxCup in Sweden. For a club founded in 1970 that had spent its history inside the Finnish league pyramid, a trophy from abroad was new ground, and it arrived through the age groups rather than the first team.

VJS play in Kolmonen, the fourth tier, and the immediate task is the one they set themselves after 2023.
