WIT Georgia

Nodar Iashvili and Elguja Lobjanidze are among the players whose names are attached to WIT Georgia, a Tbilisi side that most Georgian supporters know simply as "Veterinary". The nickname is a sponsor's legacy. In 1997 a club that had existed since 1968 as Morkinali Tbilisi took the name of WIT Georgia Ltd, a company making pet food and veterinary pharmaceuticals. WIT stands for World Innovation Technologies. The sponsor's business gave the club its nickname, and the new name outlasted the old one.

It won the Georgian Umaglesi Liga, now the Erovnuli Liga, in 2003–04 and again in 2009. The 2009 title came with the Georgian Super Cup, and in 2010 the Georgian Cup followed.

Home is Mtskheta Park, also called Aramazi Stadium, in Mtskheta, a suburb of Tbilisi. It holds between 2,000 and 3,000 people. When fixtures did not suit it, the club moved matches to Shevardeni Stadium and Mikheil Meskhi Stadium inside the city. Playing outside Tbilisi did not stop the club being drawn into the Tbilisi derby with Dinamo Tbilisi, the fixture that matters most to it.

The top flight ended for WIT Georgia at the close of the 2014–15 season, when it finished 15th and went down. Since then it has played in the lower divisions, Erovnuli Liga 2 among them. It has not won a trophy since 2010.
