Children's Mercy Park

The ground opened as Livestrong Sporting Park; when the partnership with Lance Armstrong's foundation ended in 2013 it became plain Sporting Park, and an agreement with Children's Mercy Hospital put the hospital's name up in 2015. Those rights have since expired, and the venue is known again as Sporting Park.

Underneath the grass runs an electrical heating system, laid in so that matches in Kansas City remain playable through the winter.

Its fullest day came in December 2013, when Sporting Kansas City beat Real Salt Lake on penalties in the MLS Cup final in front of 21,650 — still the highest crowd recorded here. The same year AS Roma had beaten the MLS All-Stars 3-1 on the same pitch. Two Gold Cup tournaments, in 2011 and 2021, and the 2015 NCAA Men's College Cup have followed, alongside United States men's and women's international fixtures.

In February 2019 a metal railing gave way during a CONCACAF Champions League tie, injuring several spectators and the Deportivo Toluca winger Felipe Pardo. The most visible structural change came earlier, in 2015, when the Mazuma Mezzanine of luxury suites was added above the north-east corner.
