Comrat Stadium

Comrat's ground carries the town's own imprint before anything else: it sits on Lenin Street, the address most people in Gagauzia still give by default when they mean "the stadium", and the pitch itself was rebuilt in 2012 on ground that had carried football for sixty years before that. The old field gave way to an artificial surface, and the reconstruction is remembered locally as an outside effort — accounts point to Turkish funding, though the Gagauz executive committee is credited elsewhere, so the true backer stays a matter of who is asked.

What sets it apart from a plain municipal pitch is how many teams call it home at once. FC Olimp Comrat, CF Univer Comrat and FC Maiak Chirsova all play out of the same 4,000-seat bowl, an arrangement that keeps the calendar busy in a town too small to sustain three separate venues. It is not a place built around one club's identity, the way a bigger city's arena might be — it simply keeps Comrat's football going, match after match, whoever is scheduled that weekend.

The old name lingers in conversation more than the new one does: people still call it Stadionul Orășănesc, the town stadium, a habit that predates the 2012 rebuild and never quite got replaced by anything official-sounding.
