Oguzsport and Fălești played out a 0:0 draw in the third match of the Regular Season of Liga 1 on 14 August 2026. Neither side could find a way through on this occasion.
They went into the game as the two best teams in the league. Oguzsport sat top with eight points from five fixtures, while Fălești were second with seven from four games. The gap was narrow, and the result mattered.
They had met before, on 24 April, when the match also finished level. That 1:1 result suggested a certain balance between the sides, and by then neither manager would have expected an easy win against the other.
Oguzsport's recent run had been solid. They beat Național Ialoveni 2:0 and Victoria Bârdar 1:0 before a heavy defeat to Siret and a win over Universitatea Comrat. To be fair, they had been hard to break down.
Fălești's form looked sharper on paper. A 1:0 win over Victoria Bârdar followed a draw with Oguzsport themselves, and they had also seen off Olimpic Comrat 4:0. They had hit a wall against Spartania Selemet, but otherwise they were moving forward.
A goalless draw keeps Oguzsport at the summit, now three points clear of Fălești. The visitors drop to three behind the leaders after this round of matches.
It was a tight encounter between two sides that know each other well. The top of the table remains what it has been all season — close, and decided by moments.
