Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramírez
The rebrand still feels new here. For twenty-seven years the ground carried only one name — that of Alfonso Lastras Ramírez, rector of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí through the late 1980s and into the 1990s, a man remembered locally less for football than for founding the club that would eventually grow into Atlético Potosino. A sponsorship deal with Libertad Financiera took effect in January 2026, and signage across the ground is being changed over through the year. Both the club and the city have been careful to frame it as a commercial arrangement laid over the old identity, not a replacement for it, and Lastras's name has not disappeared from how people here still refer to the place.
The stadium opened on 25 May 1999, with construction having run through the previous year under architect José Francisco Alfaro Sousa. Real San Luis marked the opening with a 3-0 win over Atlético Chiapas.
Atlético San Luis now plays its football here, on natural turf, in the Valle Malaquita district. The club runs its own site rather than the stadium having a page of its own.
