Estadio Atlético Municipal de Concón
Concón, Chile
What sets the ground on Magallanes 800 apart from the municipal pitches around it is how recently it stopped being just a municipal pitch. The Estadio Atlético Municipal de Concón was built by the Ilustre Municipalidad de Concón.
That changed in 2024. The pitch was relaid in synthetic turf to the FIFA standards due in 2025, and the ground was refurbished alongside it, because Concón National needed somewhere to host professional football. In October 2024 the club played its first professional home matches here, in the Segunda División Profesional. The football it now stages arrived last.
Concón National remains the only tenant. The setup is modest by professional standards — an artificial surface — and the arrangement runs through the council, which still owns the ground and lists it among its municipal sports facilities.
The build cost 1,500 million Chilean pesos of the day, and the stadium opened on 11 December 2010. The name has not changed since. Nor, in truth, has much else about the place until the turf came up.
