Estádio Augusto Bauer opened on 7 June 1931, and Marcílio Dias beat home side Brusquense 1-0 in the first match played there. Nearly a century later, the ground still carries two clubs on its books: it belongs to Carlos Renaux, but Brusque Futebol Clube rents the pitch and plays its own home fixtures there too, so on a given weekend either shirt might be running out.

The surface has changed more recently than the ground itself. Natural grass gave way to an artificial pitch during work completed in 2024, brought up to FIFA standard, and a further resurfacing with shock-pad technology is planned for 2026 — a stadium that has kept adjusting underfoot while its walls stayed put.

It sits in the centre of Brusque, on Avenida Lauro Muller, a short ground built for a small city rather than a showcase venue, and that has always been the point of it: Estádio Augusto Bauer is not trying to be anything grander than the home both of the city's clubs.
