Stadium
Estádio Doutor Adhemar de Barros (Fonte Luminosa)
Araraquara, Brazil
Formerly: Estádio Doutor Adhemar de Barros, Arena da Fonte Luminosa
Everyone in Araraquara still calls it Fonte Luminosa , and the ground opened as Estádio Doutor Adhemar de Barros on 10 June 1951, with Ferroviária hosting Vasco da Gama on that first afternoon, and locals kept the older nickname alive through every official change since.
The ground exists because of one man's push rather than any public commission: engineer Antônio Tavares Pereira Lima, who founded Ferroviária itself, drove the project through to completion, and the club has called it home from that opening whistle onward without interruption.
Natural grass covers the regulation 105 by 68 metres, nothing unusual there.
