Ferroviária Women

Every deep run Ferroviária have made in the past decade has ended against one of São Paulo state's two giants. Corinthians beat them in the 2020 Paulista final; Palmeiras beat them 4-2 in the 2025 Copa do Brasil final.

The women's side was set up in 2001, on the initiative of Araraquara's municipal government and the Fundesport sports foundation, nearly two decades before FIFA and CONMEBOL made women's sections compulsory for clubs. In 2017 Ferroviária became one of the first clubs in Brazil to put its players on formal contracts rather than informal arrangements.

The best of that work showed in 2014, when Raquel and Adriane Nenê each scored twice across the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino final against Kindermann, followed by the Copa do Brasil the same year. A second Brasileiro title followed in 2019. Andréia Rosa, an Olympic champion with Brazil in 2008, marked much of that era from defence across two spells at the club, from 2007 to 2018 and again from 2019 to 2020, before moving into coaching there.
