The two sides met in the state-championship final in both 2024 and 2025.

The women's section was formally established in 1989. That changed in 2019, when the players began signing directly with Bahia as club employees rather than through the intermediary.

2024 carried the heavier prize. Bahia won the Brasileirão Feminino Série A2, the promotion route to the national top flight, with Lindsay Camila in charge of the side. The club moved quickly after the final whistle, naming Felipe Freitas as her successor within the month. Wearing white with a green band across the chest, black shorts and pale grey socks, the team has no fixed home ground of its own; 2025 fixtures were shared between Estádio Joia da Princesa in Feira de Santana, the Carneirão in Alagoinhas, the Batistão in Aracaju, and, for the state championship, the club's own training centre in Dias d'Ávila.
