The nickname says more than any scoreline: locals call this ground the Estádio dos Ventos Uivantes . It was built on land that once carried horses, not footballers — Associação Atlética Portuguesa bought it in 1964 and reshaped it into a football ground.
Portuguesa-RJ has held the ground since that opening and remains the permanent tenant, but the address on Rua Haroldo Lobo has hosted more famous shirts than its own. The record crowd, 18,204, belongs to one of those Flamengo nights, a Série A meeting with Grêmio that dwarfs anything Portuguesa itself has drawn there.
