Estadio Municipal Juan Maldonado Gamarra

Juan Maldonado Gamarra was a Guardia Civil officer who, together with residents of the town, cleared and levelled the ground back in 1927, when the pitch was known simply as El Sportivo. It took until 25 January 1970 for the venue to be rebuilt in his honour and given his name, with terracing added to seat around five hundred spectators.
Between 2013 and 2016 the municipality pushed through a full rebuild, adding a west stand in 2014 and an east stand with a roof the following year, along with the artificial surface that still covers the pitch today. That work coincided with a turning point for the town's club, Comerciantes Unidos , known locally as Águilas Cutervinas, which won FIFA approval to play its matches here from 2016. A further renovation in 2023 and 2024 replaced the turf with a FIFA Quality Pro-certified surface and updated the dressing rooms and floodlights, work reported at around 2.2 million soles.
