Defensores Women

Cutervo's clean top-flight women's side exists because the region needed a way into Liga Femenina , and Defensores del Ilucán already had the men's infrastructure and the ground to build one. The women's team, known locally as Defensoras, started competing nationally in 2023, playing its home fixtures at the Estadio Municipal Juan Maldonado Gamarra in Cajamarca region, a ground locals also call El Sportivo or JMG and that now holds 13,000.

In 2024 Defensoras finished sixth in the opening stage and sixth again in the closing hexagonal group, missing the semi-finals. A year later the club failed to qualify for the league at all. Back in the competition for 2026, it has stayed pinned to the lower half of the table in both the Apertura and Clausura phases, finishing eighth and ninth respectively and never reaching the play-offs.

The club plays in white with green trim, matching the crest, but three seasons into national competition Defensoras have yet to reach a final, win a title, or even secure a semi-final place.
