Estádio Paulo Constantino (Prudentão)

The pitch at Prudentão is not where it used to be. In 2025, under Grêmio Prudente's ten-year concession, ground staff shifted the playing surface 19 metres toward the Green sector stand and relaid it with Tahoma 31 grass and a new drainage system, a scale of rebuilding rarely attempted at a stadium already in use.

The ground has carried two names. Opened in 1982 as Estádio Paulo Constantino, it became Estádio Eduardo José Farah in 2002, honouring the then-president of the São Paulo state football federation, before reverting to its original name in March 2013. Through both periods, everyone in Presidente Prudente just called it Prudentão.

Its record crowd, 45,972, packed the stands on 3 March 1996 for a São Paulo state championship match between Palmeiras and Corinthians, won 3-1 by Palmeiras. Cup football has its own rules: on 8 March 2009, Ronaldo scored his first goal for Corinthians in a 1-1 draw with Palmeiras here, in front of 44,479. Fluminense had their own reason to remember the ground — a 3-2 win over Palmeiras on 11 November 2012 sealed the Brazilian championship for them early.

Reconstruction between 1993 and 1997 turned the stadium from a horseshoe into an ellipse. A decade later, a hurricane tore through the roof and floodlights, and repairs ran through 2007 and 2008.

Owned by the Presidente Prudente municipality, the stadium has hosted a rotating list of local clubs, among them Grêmio Desportivo Prudente, Presidente Prudente Futebol Clube, Oeste Paulista and Corinthians de Presidente Prudente. In 2010, visiting side Grêmio Recreativo Barueri even took the field there under a borrowed identity, Grêmio Prudente. These days, only around 12,000 of its more than 45,000 seats see regular use.
