Gremio Prudente U20

Luís Henrique Dalben — Epitácio to everyone at Prudentão — coaches both the first team and the U20 side at Grêmio Desportivo Prudente, the club Adriano Guerlin founded on 1 December 2005 in Presidente Prudente, in the interior of São Paulo state. Guerlin played for the team himself in those early years, when it carried the name Oeste Paulista Esporte Clube and wore orange kits distinctive enough to earn the nickname Laranja Mecânica. The club took its current name, and the Carcará tag it now goes by, only in 2012.

The U20 side plays in the Campeonato Paulista Sub-20, feeding a first team that has spent two decades climbing São Paulo's regional divisions in stages rather than in one leap. Promotion from the Série A4 came with the title in 2007, still under the old name, and again in 2022. A runner-up finish in the Série A3 followed in 2024, lost in the final to Votuporanguense. Two players who passed through the club's ranks went on to careers abroad: Tarabai, part of that 2007 title side, later played in South Korea and Saudi Arabia, while Camilo moved through Canada and Mexico, lining up alongside Ronaldinho at Querétaro.

Home matches are played at the Estádio Paulo Constantino, known locally as Prudentão, which holds close to 46,000 — a capacity well beyond what the club's level of competition usually draws. After reaching the Série A2 semi-final of the Copa Paulista and finishing ninth in that division in 2025, Grêmio Prudente was relegated back down to the Série A3 in 2026.

The fixture that matters most locally is against Osvaldo Cruz, the dérbi do oeste paulista, a rivalry running since 2013 between the two clubs of western São Paulo state.
