The closest Desportivo Brasil have come to a trophy is a defeat. In 2016 they reached the final of the Campeonato Paulista – Segunda Divisão and lost it to Portuguesa Santista, still the best finish in the club's history. A pair of fourth-place finishes in Série A3 and three Copa Paulista quarter-finals make up the rest of a record with no silverware in it at all.

That gap in the trophy cabinet says little about what the place actually does. Desportivo Brasil was built to develop players and move them on, and Bremer is the clearest proof of it: he left Porto Feliz for Juventus and a place in the Brazil squad, further than any other graduate of the academy has gone. Ederson, Diego Carlos and Gustavo Scarpa followed similar routes out, to Atalanta, Sevilla and Olympiacos, all three also capped by the national team.

In 2014 the academy was bought by the Chinese energy company Luneng Group, later renamed Shandong Taishan, and picked up the nickname Chinese Dragon. Competitive football stopped for the club during that period. Investment from the parent company tapered off, and by 2022 Desportivo Brasil had made itself financially self-sufficient, funding the operation through transfer fees rather than money from China.

2026 brought the first relegation in the club's history, down to Série A4, after what has locally been called a sporting crisis. The academy still trains out of Porto Feliz. Matchdays moved in 2010 to the 15,000-capacity Estádio Municipal Alfredo Chiavegato in nearby Jaguariúna, away from the Vila Porto ground used before then. The club was founded in November 2005 as a Sub-15-to-Sub-20 academy built to produce professionals rather than to win.
