Estádio Municipal Carlos Colnaghi holds 14,651, more than the population figures usually attached to a town the size of Capivari would suggest, and it is where Capivariano has played out its entire history without a single relocation or merger. Locally the ground is known as Arena Capivari.

The club was founded on 12 October 1918 by a group led by Cesário Lazarini and Temmer Assad, and the name has not changed since. Colours are red and white, and supporters go by "Alvirrubra". Between 1964 and 1975 the club stopped operating altogether, and in 1997 it fell as far as the fifth tier of São Paulo state football before working back up.

The first professional title came in 1984, winning the Campeonato Paulista Série A3; a second Série A3 crown followed in 2023. Promotion to the state's top flight arrived through the Série A2, won in 2014 and again in 2025. The one season in Série A1, in 2015, ended with survival; relegation came the year after. In 2024 the club completed its conversion into a SAF, a Sociedade Anônima do Futebol.

None of that changes what happens on matchdays in Capivari, where Carlos Colnaghi remains the fixed point of a club that has never played its football anywhere else.
