Estádio Ulrico Mursa
In 2016, a proposal to knock down the ground for a shopping centre was turned aside, and Estádio Ulrico Mursa carried on doing what it has done since a match was first played here in 1918 — hosting Portuguesa Santista, the Santos club its own supporters call "A Briosa".
The land came from Ulrico Mursa himself, an engineer who ran the Companhia Docas de Santos and handed over the plot the stadium still occupies. The formal opening followed on 15 December 1920, when Portuguesa Santista beat Sírio Futebol Clube 6-0.
The record crowd dates to 7 December 1952, when 12,500 people packed in to watch Corinthians beat the home side 1-2, a number the ground's current capacity would no longer allow. Portuguesa Santista's most recent title came in 2023, beating São José in the final of the Copa Paulista.
