The Under-20 squad turns out in the Campeonato Paulista's youth tier under the same badge as the first team, crowned champions of the Série A3 in 2026 — the third rung of the São Paulo state pyramid, and a title the senior side had missed by a whisker before, finishing runner-up in the same division back in 2018. It still sits some way below the club's best-ever showing at the top: a third-place finish in the elite Série A1 in 2003, never bettered since.

Associação Atlética Portuguesa was founded in Santos on 20 November 1917. The shorter name, Portuguesa Santista, set it apart from the Lisbon club and from the larger Portuguesa of São Paulo, and it stuck alongside the nickname Briosa. The red and green come from the Portuguese flag, worn as horizontal stripes rather than the halved shirts common elsewhere in Brazilian football.

State titles have arrived in clusters rather than a steady run: three Série A2 crowns in a row from 1932 to 1934, and a fourth in 1964. More recent silverware includes the A4 championship in 2016 and the Copa Paulista in 2023. Home matches are played at Estádio Ulrico Mursa, whose capacity the club's own website puts at 6,072.

One older prize still stands apart from the rest. In 1959 Brazil's football confederation awarded Portuguesa Santista the Fita Azul for a touring campaign the club finished unbeaten, with fifteen wins from fifteen games played.
