FK „Žalgiris“ namų stadionas

What now carries the Žalgiris badge began life in 1957 as Lokomotyvas, and the pitch itself sits on the site of that older ground rather than of the demolished Spartak arena that Vilnius fans once called by the same "Žalgiris" name. Vėtra financed a rebuild in 2004 and the ground took that club's name for six years, until Vėtra went bankrupt in 2010 and the Lithuanian Football Federation took the place over as LFF stadionas.

Between 2005 and 2022 this was also where the Lithuania national team played its home fixtures, and its record crowd, 5,067, is not a squeeze into a bigger old bowl but the full capacity itself, reached for the Euro 2020 qualifier against Ukraine on 7 September 2019.

The ground has had its own structural scares. Faults turned up in the south stand in 2015 and 2016, and cracks in the stand floor injured spectators before the stand was rebuilt in 2017. Stadiono g. 2, in the Rasos district, has been the address since 2013, replacing the old Liepkalnio g. 13/2 designation.
