Merritt College Soccer Stadium

Merritt College Soccer Stadium sits inside the campus itself, on the hill site the college moved to in 1971, which puts a 3,451-seat football ground in the middle of a community-college athletics programme rather than attached to any club of its own. That arrangement makes it unusual on the local map: a stadium that ends up hosting professional fixtures whenever the bigger grounds in Oakland are booked elsewhere.

Oakland Roots SC, of the USL Championship, have used it as a fallback venue when the schedule at the Oakland Coliseum did not line up — the club shifted a USL Cup tie against Spokane Velocity here for that reason. Oakland Soul SC, in the USL W League, and Project 510, now known as Oakland Roots II, have gone further and made it a regular home rather than a stand-in. The venue carries a mixed fixture list through the year.
