Green mountains loom in the distance, providing a backdrop that is unusual for a European football ground. The setting feels tucked away, a quiet valley rather than an urban centre.

The venue carries a weight of history that is not immediately obvious from the architecture. It served as the national stadium of Liechtenstein for decades, hosting the senior team until the Rheinpark Stadion opened in Vaduz. That era saw the national side play matches here against heavyweights, including a 0–0 draw with the Republic of Ireland. It remains the home for the Liechtenstein youth teams and the local club, USV Eschen/Mauren, which plays in the Swiss league system.

The ground is not solely for football. The complex includes an athletics track and tennis courts, a legacy of its creation as a multi-sport facility. The main pitch is natural grass, a surface that has seen the host nation through numerous campaigns.
