The Roudourou announces itself through what it survived to become an EAG fixture rather than through anything grand at the gate. It opened in January 1990, designed by the local architect Jean-Yves Philippe, and back then held just 12,000, with part of that crowd standing on a grass bank rather than seated on a stand.

What followed was a stadium built in instalments, each one tied to what the club had just achieved on the pitch. Promotion to Ligue 1 in the late 1990s brought the Patrick stand and covered wings, pushing capacity past 18,000. A decade later, the pursuit of a UEFA Label added a second tier to the tribune d'honneur, the kind of upgrade a club chases only once European football is a realistic prospect rather than a hope. Guingamp got there, and the ground grew to match.

The 2014 work on seating and floodlighting arrived with Europa League football already on the calendar, and the hybrid pitch laid in 2015 has since been rated among the better surfaces in Ligue 1, no small claim for a club from a town this size. The last major change came in 2018, when the Nord stand was extended and the ground's mechanical systems were overhauled, taking capacity to its current 19,033.

That same year gave the Roudourou its record crowd: 19,003 for Guingamp against Paris Saint-Germain in August 2018, a night when a ground built in stages for a provincial club found itself filled almost to the last seat for the champions of France.
