Steveco-areena

Steveco-areena (Finnish spelling; also known as Steveco-Arena or Arène Steveco in French) is an indoor sports hall located in the Karhuvuori district of Kotka, Finland. The venue was built in 1974 and originally named Karhuvuoren urheilutalo (Karhuvuori Sports Hall). It was renamed Steveco-areena in 2008 following a sponsorship agreement with Steveco, a Finnish logistics and transportation company. The building has a total area of 3,153 m² and houses facilities for basketball, wrestling, weightlifting, judo, boxing, and air rifle. The official seating capacity is 1,700 spectators, though some sources cite a range of 1,600–2,000. The address is Ututie 4, 48350 Kotka, Finland. The venue serves as the home court for KTP-Basket, which plays in the Korisliiga (Finnish top-tier basketball league), and Peli-Karhut, which competes in the koripallon naisten SM-sarja (Finnish women's basketball league). Notable events hosted at the arena include EuroChallenge Group G games during the 2014–15 season, where KTP-Basket hosted matches against Pallacanestro Biella, Port of Antwerp Giants, and Le Mans Sarthe Basket. A recorded attendance of 870 was noted for a match against Pallacanestro Biella on November 4, 2014. The arena has also hosted cultural events, including concerts by Kotkan Nuoret Jouset (Kotka Young String Players) in 2016 and 2017. The playing surface is an indoor basketball court; while Finnish arenas typically use wooden parquet floors, the specific material has not been confirmed in available sources. No attendance record or specific builder/architect information was found.
